PPM Express provides a PPM Express Advanced Power BI pack.
PPM Express is constantly evolving. The set of out-of-the-box Power BI report packs is expanding: Financial, Innovation, Governance, etc. The Advanced Report Pack is the beginner of this series, as it was one of the first packs created for PPM Express.
The Advanced Report Pack is PPM Express's most extensive pack. However, due to the transformations PPM Express has undergone over the last few years, the architecture of this pack is outdated and, in some aspects, does not match its current functionality.
Among the discrepancies are the following:
1. There is no support for multi-portfolios. It is assumed that a project can only be included in one portfolio. If a project is included in several portfolios within PPM Express, then in the reports of the Advanced pack, the project will belong to the first portfolio in which it was included.
2. There is no support for programs.
3. Tasks entities in reports and in the application may differ. This happens because the Task entity in the Advanced report pack appeared much earlier than the similar entity in the application. In reports, the Task is the result of the unification of external systems' Tasks, performed on the report side. Accordingly, Tasks in reports do not consider the configuration settings of import mappings. For the same reason, not all task fields available in the application are available in reports.
4. There is no support for custom values of statuses.
Currently, the Advanced report pack is supported to ensure the work of custom solutions connected to its semantic model. During the first half of 2024, the pack will still be available for download. Afterwards, it is planned to be decommissioned.
