Project Dashboard App

The Project Dashboard is a PPM Express App that provides a real-time, consolidated view of a project’s health, performance, and upcoming work.

It brings together status indicators, financials, tasks, and key dates in one place, helping you quickly understand the overall state of the project.

Note: This functionality is available only for the Enterprise Ultra plan. Also, apps are currently available only to customers in the US region.

Project Dashboard Overview

The dashboard includes:

  • Core project details such as progress, state, priority, stage, manager, and related Portfolio or Program.
  • A set of health indicators covering schedule, cost, resources, risks, and issues.

  • A financial overview with allocated, forecast, baseline, and actual budget values.
  • Upcoming milestones, key dates, and deliverables due from the current work week through the next 30 days.
  • Task analytics showing task distribution, progress, completed and remaining work, baseline, and overall effort.

Tasks are automatically retrieved from the project’s configured Primary Schedule system.

With the Project Dashboard, you can:

  • Monitor overall project health in real time.
  • Identify overdue or at-risk work.
  • Review financial performance.
  • Track upcoming commitments.
  • Analyze task progress and workload.
  • Export the dashboard to PDF for reporting or sharing.

The dashboard automatically respects tenant settings such as date format and the first day of the work week.

The Project Dashboard App gives you a structured, high-level view of your project, making it easier to monitor progress and support informed decisions.

Project Dashboard Configuration

To configure the Project Dashboard App, perform the following:

1. Open the Tenant Settings page -> Extensions -> New Extension. Type in the name for your Extension.

Delete

Note: The Tenant Settings page is available only to PPM Express Administrators.

2. Copy the following URL for the Project Dashboard Extension:

https://project-dashboard-1002.bluemeadow-999b1372.centralus.azurecontainerapps.io

3. Paste it into the URL field of the new Extension.

4. Provide the Extension location (Project dashboard -> Actions).

The recommended panel size is Canvas

5. Add Description, if needed. Click Create Extension

When the dashboard is embedded into a PPM Express page, it automatically receives a secure, short-lived access token from the page. This token allows the dashboard to safely retrieve the necessary data from PPM Express. No additional setup or action is required from your side.

The Project Dashboard App configuration is finished and ready for use.

Navigate to the selected location, the Project dashboard in our example, and choose this app from the Actions menu.
