New Features:

  • Inline editing is now available for PPM Express entities. The new inline editing feature allows users to edit items directly on the main pages for Projects, Portfolios, Programs, Resources, Tasks, Objectives, Ideas, and Roadmaps without needing to open the details page.

Fixes:

  • Resolved an issue where tasks imported from a CSV file were incorrectly added to the default group.

New Features:

  • Time Tracking Module: A new Microsoft 365 connector allows users to import time entries from their Microsoft 365 activity into Timesheets (My Time page).

Improvements:

  • A new status calculation option was added to the PPM Insights Settings page. It enables automatic status calculation for projects, programs, and portfolios, while allowing manual entry of status descriptions.

Fixes:

  • Project Publisher: Resolved an issue where time zones affected the start dates of tasks published from Project Desktop.
  • Fixed issues with warnings related to the Project Stage field.
  • Resolved an issue where status descriptions were not saved immediately.

Improvements:

  • Improved page loading times for the "Resources" and "Resource Planning and Utilization" pages.
  • Added support for creating subtasks via API.
  • Enhanced the "Extensions" section on the Tenant Settings page, allowing the addition of various extension types to different PPM Express pages and sections.
  • The "Export to CSV" option is now available on the Reported Time page.

Fixes:

  • Resolved an issue where the OData token became invalid if generated by a user with different email and UPN.
  • Fixed a problem where the status for key dates was not set according to PPM Insight Settings.

Release Notes 21.7 @September 19, 2024

New Features: 

  • Multiple categories were added to the Project Stage field of the Details project section. It is now possible to choose the category and customize Stages as needed.  
  • A Roadmap section was added to the Project/Portfolio/Program/Business Challenges/Idea dashboard. 
    Note: We recommend adding Roadmaps to the Default view of your Projects. If a Roadmap is added to a custom view or layout, its content will be shared across other Project that use the same view or layout. This means that a Roadmap added to a custom view in one Project will also appear in the Roadmap section of other Projects where the same custom view is applied.

Improvements:

  • A new setting ‘Show assigned to’ was added to the ‘Style’ menu on the Roadmap page, allowing users to display the person assigned to a roadmap bar or key date.
  • A new Time Report Pack was added to the Report Settings page.
  • AI Digest now pulls task information from the system configured in the Primary Schedule setting.

Fixes:

  • Resolved an issue with macros in date fields within filters.

Release Notes 21.5 @August 29, 2024

Improvements:

  • The default OpenAI model has been upgraded from GPT-3.5 to GPT-4o mini.
  • The ‘Configure Columns’ panel now includes field grouping. Fields are divided into ‘Fields in this view’ (enabled fields) and ‘Available fields’ (which include all custom and system fields).
  • The ‘Configure Fields’ in the Details section for Projects, Programs, and Portfolios has been enhanced with additional grouping in the 'Available Fields' section for easier field navigation.
  • You can now visually separate fields into two columns in the Details section of Project, Program, Portfolio, Roadmap, Resource, Business Challenge, and Idea Dashboards.
  • New options were added to the Time Tracking Settings for the Enterprise plans: 'Enable Resource Plan Smart Suggestions', 'Record Reported Time to Resource Plan Actuals' and Billable and Cost Type Synchronization settings.

  • Added an informational message to the 'Share' panel when Azure AD sync is enabled.

Fixes:

  • Enhanced user sync mapping in Azure AD.
  • Improved field mapping for ‘Duration’ type in Smartsheet connection.
  • Resolved the issue with Global Search when typing or deleting quickly.
  • Fixed a problem where user permissions were lost after changing the authentication provider.
  • Resolved the issue where the primary column ‘Resource Name’ could be turned off on the Resource Planning and Utilization page.
  • Fixed the issue where the primary column ‘Project Name’ could be turned off in the ‘Contributed by’ section on the OKR page.
  • Resolved the issue with the ‘Delete Program’ button not working on the Program Dashboard page.
  • Fixed the issue where a new filter did not open automatically after copying a project filter.

Release Notes 21.3 @August 8, 2024

New Features:

  • An option to create Private Projects was added to PPM Express. This feature is available by default in the Enterprise Ultra plan.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where a blank page was displayed when navigating back from the related Program/ Portfolio to the Project/Program Dashboard.

Release Notes 21.2 @July 31, 2024

Improvements:

  • Baseline and variance fields on a Project Level for PPM Express and Global Rollup fields were added.
  • A field ‘Assigned to’ was added to the PPM Insights page and is available for adding in the Configure Columns menu. The field ‘Owner’ was renamed to ‘Manager’ for more clarity.
  • A new field ‘Is Summary’ is now available in task filters and allows to filter out summary or non-summary tasks.

Improvements:

  • User experience improvements with redesigned views and layouts.
  • The Share panel was redesigned for a better user experience. A new Filter option was added to filter users in the list by their project permissions or by their user names.
  • The My Time page was added to PPM Express Teams app wizard. 

Release Notes 21.0 @July 10, 2024

New Features:

  • New subscription plans were added to PPM Express: Projects, Projects Unlimited, Enterprise, and Enterprise Ultra. Billing Settings page was redesigned to update changes on new subscription plans.
  • A new Time Reporting module was added to PPM Express. It is included in the new plans at no additional cost.

Improvements:

  • A possibility to import predecessors and dependencies for tasks imported from Project Publisher to PPM Express was added. This functionality was already available for the case when MPP tasks are imported as PPM Express tasks. With this release, this functionality is also available for the case when MPP tasks are published as a linked project in PPM Express. 

Fixes:

  • Fixed the issues with Export to PNG option.

Release Notes 20.6 @July 2, 2024

Improvements:

  • The field 'Actual Cost' was added to the Resource Plan section. It is calculated based on the formula: Total Actual * resource 'Standard Cost'. The roll-up field 'Resource Actual Cost' was added to the Details section at the Project/Program/Portfolio level. It is calculated based on the formula: Sum of Total Actual * resource 'Standard Cost'.
  • A new section, 'Embedded Content', was added to Ideas.
  • The ‘Priority’ field is now displayed as text and an icon in Task Management.
  • Information about AI features is now displayed in the tenant even if the PPM Insights AI setting is disabled.
  • An option to 'Change Auth Provider' is now available for users with Active or Inactive status.

Release Notes 20.4 @June 18, 2024

New Features:

  • The ‘Primary Schedule’ section in the Project Settings was updated to support all connectors available in PPM Express. The section will now list only those schedules for which connection is established in the current project.
  • Rollup fields (such as Schedule Start Date, Schedule Due Date, Schedule Duration, Schedule Progress, %, Schedule Effort, Schedule Completed Work, Schedule Remaining Work) were added for each connector. 

Improvements:

  • Baseline variance fields were added to Key dates section at the Project, Program and Portfolio levels.
  • The Resource IDs property was added to API at the project level.
  • Project progress is now displayed as a percentage instead of a ratio for the following connectors: Planner, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Jira, Azure DevOps.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where total values were not displayed in the Budget and Benefits sections.

New Features:

  • Added an option to upload a company logo and define a style type for the navigation panel.

Improvements:

  • Added support for elapsed duration to Project Publisher. The start and finish dates are now recalculated in PPM Express based on elapsed duration values when tasks are imported.
  • Baseline variance fields were added to PPM Express tasks.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where tasks were not displayed in archived projects.
  • Added hints for linked entities on the Configure Connections pane.
  • Improved the confirmation message for archiving projects.
  • Fixed the issue where AD synchronization failed due to duplicate user emails.

Improvements:

  • The ‘Regional Format’ setting was added to the ‘Global Settings’ section on the Tenant Settings page. It allows defining the date format to be displayed in the PPM Express user interface and when exported to CSV.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the link in the email received for daily and weekly summary notifications.

  • Work via API was added to the Resource Plan section for Projects, Programs, and Portfolios.

  • Fixed the issue where the Last Modified date was not updated if a status value was updated with the same one.
  • Fixed the issue where a ‘500 error’ was displayed when adding an idea to the Roadmaps page.

Improvements:

  • Work via API was added to Programs and Portfolios.
  • A new setting, ‘Project Progress Calculation,’ was added to Tenant Settings. It enables the definition of the default Progress Calculation rule that will be pre-selected in the Project Settings in the % Progress Calculation for PPM Express Tasks section when creating a new project.

Fixes:

  • Resolved the issue of 'null' status values appearing in OData for tasks, programs, projects, and portfolios.
  • Fixed the issue with handling encoded URLs.
  • Fixed the issue when the ‘Proposed’ booking type was not displayed in the Resource Plan section and on the Resource Planning and Utilization page.
  • Fixed the issue with duplicated values in the multi-select field.
  • Fixed the issue when the ‘Cost Details’ view was available for Team Members and Users without Manage financial details permission on the Programs page.

Release Notes 19.5 @April 25, 2024

Improvements:

  • It is now possible to embed custom content on the Quick Start page via the ‘Extensions’ feature.
  • An option to ‘Show/Hide hierarchy’ was added for tasks with the highest hierarchy in Task Management, allowing users to quickly view or hide a hierarchy tree of tasks. When filters are applied, tasks with hierarchy are displayed as a flat list without sub-tasks being additionally duplicated.
  • A ‘Refresh’ icon was added next to the account name for the ‘Project for the Web’ connection to provide easier access to the option to refresh the connection account.
  • Hints were added to the main actions in the Task Management module.
  • The Schedule/Tasks project section was redesigned for Jira to become more flexible.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the issue with Jira sync failure in specific case.
  • Fixed the issue with resource grid behavior.

Release Notes 19.4 @April 17, 2024

Improvements: 

  • The Calendar settings page was redesigned. This page is available for all users and team members on the tenant level. The new 'My Work Week' section allows Resource Managers to specify personal work week settings for resource, and 'My Calendar Exceptions' section allows users and team members edit their calendar exceptions (holidays, days off).
  • Improved the technical performance of PPM Express Task Management.

Release Notes 19.3 @April 15, 2024

New Features:

  • A new section, 'Invoices,' was added to the Project Dashboard.

Improvements:

  • Jira Connection: It is now possible to select any Work Item type (default or custom) to be displayed in the 'Iterations' project section, similar to how it's implemented for Azure DevOps.
  • MS Planner Connection: An option to add a new Planner Plan to the existing group was added.
  • The invitation email sent when Azure AD Users Sync is enabled was improved.
  • When a project is imported from Project Desktop to PPM Express via the MPP (Project) Publisher add-on, the baseline fields from Project Desktop can now be imported to PPM Express baseline fields or custom fields.
  • 'Notes' from Project Desktop can now be mapped with any PPM Express text multiline field via the MPP (Project) Publisher addon.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the issue when a status description exported to a CSV file was considered as a formula.
  • Azure DevOps connection: Fixed the issue with an incorrect link displayed in the field of a hyperlink type when imported via field mapping.
  • Fixed the issue when the ‘Budget’ and ‘Benefits’ sections content had empty space in full-screen mode.

Release Notes 19.2 @April 10, 2024

Improvements:

  • The look and feel of actions for all entities and sub-entities was changed. The UI is now more user-friendly, displaying actions available for single items (accessible under the ellipsis button menu) and for multiple items.
  • The "Hide" button was removed from the PPM Insights page to eliminate the option to hide irrelevant activities from users.
  • An option to automatically activate all new users/team members added to Azure AD groups for User and Team Member licenses upon synchronization with Azure AD was added.
  • The settings in the ‘Azure Active Directory User Synchronization’ section were redesigned to facilitate the selection of settings for inviting and activating new users.

Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where clicking the bubble on the Projects page did not open the filter for editing.

  • A new column ‘Tasks’ was added to Projects page. The column always displays the PPM Express Tasks icon and the icons of other connected systems linked to this project. Clicking on the icon opens the Tasks page for the selected system.

  • A new field ‘Billing Code’ was added to the section ‘Resource Plan' and the page 'Resource Planning and Utilization' for tracking billing code associated with each resource and per entity.

New Features:

  • A new section, 'Embedded Content', was added to Projects, Programs, Portfolios, and Business Challenges.

Improvements:

  • A quick 'Clear Filter' option is now available on all pages, providing users with a swift way to clear a filter when no results are found.
  • The 'Set Baseline' option is now accessible only to users with Edit permissions.
  • Sections unavailable in a specific Billing Plan will be highlighted in the 'Create/Edit View' panel.
  • When an idea is moved to another Challenge, the layout of the new challenge will be applied to the idea.
  • The project section 'Schedule' was renamed to 'Tasks' for new tenants. A 'View Tasks' button was added to the Project Dashboard header for extra quick navigation to the 'Tasks' page.
  • Buttons for navigating to the 'Tasks' page in the 'Tasks' project section are now highlighted in green.
  • The additional menu opened from the ellipsis button for PPM Express entities (Projects, Programs, Portfolios, Key Dates, etc.) was moved to the front and is now located next to the Name field.
  • The Lessons Learned section was updated with small changes. The 'Lessons Learned' multiline field was renamed to 'Description' (if the field was renamed, the custom name will be preserved). The 'Lesson Name' field and the ellipsis button with additional settings will be added next to it.

Fixes:

  • Resolved the issue where MS Planner Plans created using Loop could be imported to PPM Express with a failed sync. Synchronization of Plans created using Loop is not supported now.

  • An option to generate a Project Digest via AI capabilities was added.

Improvements:

  • The ‘Default Permissions’ menu was enhanced, allowing the indication of a specific entity for access by new users and team members.
  • The token for Microsoft Planner will be now automatically renewed after its expiration. This improvement should allow for a longer connection period without the need to manually renew the token every 90 days.

Fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where it was not displayed on the Projects page when a project was added to a program or a portfolio.

  • Fixed the issue where filtering didn’t work by tags in the Project list/timeline.

New Features:

  • Planning the allocation of resources is now available at the Project, Program, or Portfolio level. The planning level can be selected in the 'Resource Planning Level' setting added to the Tenant Settings page.
  • Work via API has been added to the Calendar Exceptions section for both Global and Resource Calendar settings.
  • The 'Task Field Mapping' option has been added to the interface of the MPP (Project) Publisher addon. When publishing your schedules from Project Desktop to PPM Express, you can now include task custom fields and their values along with the schedule.
  • Tasks from MPP files (Project Desktop app) can be now imported as PPM Express tasks using Project Publisher. 

Improvements:

  • The 'Outline' option has been added to the Tasks page for PPM Express tasks and all connector systems with a hierarchical structure of tasks. This option allows you to expand and collapse all levels of the hierarchy without expanding/collapsing each task individually.
  • OData for Roadmap items was extended to cover items connected with external systems.
  • The option to update the Project’s Start Date and Finish Date with the dates from the project summary task has been added to the MPP (Project) Publisher addon.

  • Fix for the case where the dates for Monday.com items were shifted when the tenant time zone was from -1 to -11.

Release Notes 17.6 @November 16, 2023

Improvements:

  • A new restricted Office 365 connection was added. This type of connection can be used for Azure Active Directory for User and Resource synchronization only.

Fixes:

  • The issue where subtasks were not moved to a group with their parent task is now fixed.
  • The issue where not all PPM Express tasks were moved when dragged and dropped is now fixed.

Release Notes 0.14 @ September 9, 2019

New Features:

  • 'Invite People' feature is now available. It allows to invite new users to PPM Express tenant by sending them invitations via email;
  • “Portfolio vs Projects Costs” Power BI report is now accessible from the Portfolio card menu. 

Improvements:

  • Progress calculation logic for Jira connection is now based on Jira Issue Type Category. 

Fixes:

  • Fix for data synchronization for Projects with more than 20000 tasks (applies to Azure DevOps connection).
